About me…

I’m Alex, a garden designer based in Surrey, UK who has designed gardens in Surrey, Essex, Warwickshire, and Rhode Island. I earned a Diploma in Garden Design with Distinction from the Inchbald School of Design in 2025, and started my own garden design business shortly after.

I’m passionate about creating outdoor spaces that are tailed to my clients tastes and lifestyle. Sometimes this means renovating an existing garden, editing existing planting and borders while keeping mature shrubs or specimen perennials in a sensitive manner, or sometimes it means creating an entire garden and planting design for a property with a blank canvas as the starting point.

There are few things I enjoy as much as chatting with people about their gardens and what they’d love to achieve from their outdoor space (often my clients aren’t quite sure what they’re after - and that’s fine with me! I’ll help you figure that out!).

I moved to London from New York in 2006 while I was working in recruitment for Goldman Sachs and have called the UK home ever since, although I do spend time in New England every summer. Since working at Goldman Sachs I’ve explored a few creative careers but once my children were old enough I decided to pivot properly, go back to school, and pursue my dream of becoming a Garden Designer.

Outside of garden design, I volunteer as a Steward at the Chelsea Physic Garden in London and as a summer gardener for the Watch Hill Memorial and Improvement Society in Watch Hill, Rhode Island.

My services are tailored to each client, their needs, and their budgets. Take a look at my Services tab to get more details on the design process. If your project doesn’t quite fit into one of the services I’ve described please get in touch and we can have a chat to discuss your needs.
