Pondhead Farm

Pondhead Farm is a listed 14 acre smallholding located in Surrey. The oldest parts of the house date back to the 15th Century. The property consists of the house, a garden curtilage, agricultural buildings, two large fields, and a wooded wildlife corridor that contains a swimming pond. The fields are used for sheep, not crops, and the Hayfield doesn’t have sheep on it for a large part of the year which allows for seasonal mown paths. I’ve decided to enrich the Hayfield with specific British wildflowers that increase the hay’s nutritional value for the sheep and also attract pollinators. New trees have been introduced to the fields in the form of specimen natives, small tree copses, an apple orchard, and a hazel nuttery. Structural native mixed hedges provide interest as well as habitat for wildlife.
